Fentanyl
Fentanyl is an Opioid Agonist and a very strong painkiller. It is aimed at people who are Opioid Tolerant and who have been on high daily doses of strong opioids. Fentanyl is more commonly given in slow release patch form (brand name Duragesic) and these are for the management of persistent moderate to severe chronic pain that: requires continuous, around-the-clock opioid administration for an extended period of time, and cannot be managed by other means such as non-steroidal analgesics, opioid combination products, or immediate-release opioids. It is contraindicated for use on an as needed (PRN) basis.
